According to an article on Forbes.com, 2019 is the perfect year to start enjoying wine, without breaking the bank. Experts say the discovery category in wine is expanding and that’s a good thing for the curious drinker.

According to Master Sommelier and president of Full Circle Wine Solutions in San Francisco, Evan Goldstein, there will never be a better time to be a wine drinker than after January 1st this year.

The world is becoming smaller, more connected and this means more access to good wines and as technology advances, we are better at learning about and ordering wine, from near and far.

According to Goldstein, diversity and competition are opening doors to lesser known regions and Greek, Austrian, Slovenian, Slovak and Portuguese wines will become popular choices as people seek something new.

When it comes to sparkling wine, Chile, Australia, New Zealand and Brazil  are likely to provide a range of high-quality, yet affordable options.

2019 is also predicted to be the year when the old becomes new, especially when it comes to old ways of producing wine.
