Thousands of Litres of Wine Wasted

280,000 litres of wine or 373,333 bottles have been dumped into the drainage system of a Riverland storage facility resulting in

wine glasses

a massive claim by a South Australian wine company.

The company, Accolade Wines is seeking $789,669 plus costs fom SA winemaker Kingston Estate and Berri Engineering company Monash Property for damage to its property due to the wine’s escape down the drain in August 2013.

Kingston stored wine on Accolade’s Renmano site using tanks manufactured by JMA Engineering – a “related party” of Monash but 80,000 litres of the wine went down Accolade’s drainage system and containent dam and 200,000 litres pooled on the ground. This caused contamination and damage to the property.
