This is Why You Crave a Burger after Drinking

According to studies not only does drinking alcohol excessively affect obesity levels in young people, but drinking alcohol affects what people are eating while they drink.

According to the Californian Journal of Health Promotion, previous research had already found that students’ junk food cravings increase when they consumed alcohol. So heavy drinking seems to impact dietary choices.

The researchers believe after drinking alcohol, the amount of blood glucose in the body can rise and fall which stimulates the brain to feel hungry and this causes us to binge eat. The fact that fast foods are readily and easily available, at all times of the day and night, is probably why people opt for MacDonalds and similar foods rather than a healthy meal after they drink.
