A recent study suggests that people start drinking alcohol for health benefits. Some of the health benefits the study suggests accompany light drinking (example a glass of wine with dinner now and then) includes reducing the risk of coronary artery disease and heart attacks, strokes, cancer, obesity and insomnia. It may also help with depression.

It’s important that we keep in mind that the study emphasizes “light drinking” and experts highlight that heavy drinking can actually intensify the risk of many of the diseases mentioned above.
