The study surveyed 1820 Australians and found that most people are just moderate drinkers, meaning they have nine or less standard drinks per week.

The percentage of drinkers has risen from 77 to 82 per cent since last year but more  than three-quarters of the population don’t drink more than twice a week.

According to the survey 49 per cent of people drink only one or 2 standard drinks a week and 31 per cent of them drink 3 to 5.
