Strict Underage Alcohol Policing

Aldi and other bottle shops are taking their responsible service of alcohol very seriously. In fact if a minor so much as touches a bottle of alcohol, the adult accompanying them is denied alcohol sales.

In some NSW South Coast areas, some stores are leaving nothing to chance, having denied service to adults whose children even touched the alcohol before it reached the checkout till.

These are the new, strict rules being enforced by ALDI’s staff and others not allowing children to even touch, pick up or move a bottle of alcohol.

Some say this is democracy gone mad, while others understand ALDI’s stance on the issue.

As servers of alcohol, remember we face hefty fines for serving alcohol to minors and the licensee faces even more serious consequences.
