Stabbing Incident Caused by Alcohol

The ugly side of alcohol that comes when it is abused was revealed in a gruesome incident in the community of Kalano, near Katherine in Darwin recently. A 25 year old man died after being involved in a fight with a 22 year old women.

The woman is now on trial in the Northern Territory Supreme Court after allegedly stabbing the man, inflicting a wound between 10 and 13cm deep. The knife pierced the man’s ribs, left lung and heart, causing his death.

The man and woman had apparently been fighting viciously over a cup of alcohol.Witnesses say the man was sitting on top of the woman and punching her at one point.
