RSA Sydney: Reasons to Get Yours

NSW towns Fighting Alcohol Abuse

The NSW towns of Parkes and Forbes are apparently winning the fight over alcohol induced crime due to a ground breaking new research project. The 5 year Alcohol Action in Rural Communities (AARC) project tested a community action approach to reducing risky alcohol consumption. The project has been proven successful in reducing alcohol consumption and binge drinking in rural communities which has resulted in a reduction in alcohol induced crimes. How to parlay this success to broader communities and entire states is something that can be targeted now.

This is good news because communities are starting to tackle their alcohol related issues but staff in the hospitality industry still has a responsibility to these communities. Anyone engaged in hospitality work where alcohol is served needs to undergo Responsible Service of Alcohol training, like at online NSW rsa, in order to serve alcohol in a sensible and safe way that will not endanger customers or the public.

Thankfully the RSA course is now available for NSW residents online at a fraction of the cost of traditional face-to-face training. The course is quick, convenient and user-friendly and is just what staff needs to do their part to tackle this problematic social issue of alcohol induced harm.
