Public Warned to Avoid Sugary Drinks

We always hear the consequences of too much alcohol but now health experts are warning us to ditch sugary drinks to minimise the risk of developing 13 types of cancer.

The Cancer Council Victoria has launched a new awareness campaign highlighting the link between obesity and cancer.

One third of Victorians admitted to drinking one litre of sugary drink a week , which could lead to the build up of dangerous toxic fat around internal organs.

The organisation says almost 4000 cancer cases in Australia in 2010 were linked to unhealthy weight. Children in the state are the most overweight and obese in Australia.
