Alcine Chan, a Singaporean researcher has developed a beer containing probiotic bacteria that can improve gut health and boost the immune system, as if we needed any more of a reason to love beer.

Chan worked on the recipe for more than a year, experimenting with malt, alcohol, hops and strain of probiotic bateria, before getting the formula right.

She explained that because hops are the main ingredient killing probiotics, finding a way of overcoming the hops was the key.

She also explained that the popularity of beer indicates huge market potential for the process.Source: http://www.goodfood.com.au/drinks/beer-cider/good-for-your-beer-gut-singapore-scientists-hope-for-probiotic-beer-hit-20170731-gxm5fn
