Plan to Tackle Alcohol Attitudes and Culture

‘‘Everybody’s Business’’ is the plan recently launched by The Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs Council. The council say the plan will aim to address attitudes and culture that promote alcohol and smoking at harmful levels.

One of the suggestions include reviewing the legal drinking age. Currently you must be 18 years or older to consume alcohol in Australia but there have been calls to increase this age to 21, as it is in countries such as The USA.

The council also plans to target happy hours and drinks promotions, which they say promotes excessive drinking.
