Methanol Tainted Alcohol Causes Blindness in Kuala Lumpur


A man has gone blind after drinking alcohol containing methanol in Kuala Lumpur.

The deadly alcohol has claimed the lives of over 40 people.

The 32 year old man, Radha Krishnani said he had bought the drink from a shop near the Bangsar Light Rail Transit (LRT) station.

The man began to develop complications with his sight after consuming the deadly alcohol the following morning.

First he described his eye-sight becoming blurry and then everything went dark.

He said he then sought help and was taken to hospital.

A police report was lodged by the hospital and it is hoped authorities can act quickly to stop the sale of this poisonous alcohol to prevent more fatalities.
