A North Perth bar owner, who believes Australia needs to adopt a more European approach to drinking has applied for a licence to serve alcohol from 7am. He said the European drinking culture is better than the Australian culture which has a tendency of getting drunk after dark.
He has applied to change his alcohol sales from 11am to 7 am at his North Perth bar.
He explained that in Italy, there is a different approach to alcohol and its common to drink grappa and even sambucca in the morning with a coffee. He also said alcohol was rarely abused after hours in Italy.
The licensee said people often request alcohol drinks for breakfast such as bloody marys and champagne.
