Kings Cross Operators Get Life Ban

Two former operators of a club in Kings Cross have been handed down a life ban from holding a liquor license or managing any licensed venue after operating a clandestine illegal bar and allowing illegal drugs to be sold in their venue.

Under the liquor Act, a life ban is among the harshest penalties, Deputy Premier and Minister for Justice Troy Grant explained.

He said this action was aimed at making nights out safer for the community.

Undercover police officers were able to buy illicit drugs from venue staff and performers at the club were seen openly snorting cocaine.

In addition to the lifetime bans, the 2 men were also handed fines of $7000 each and ordered to pay legal costs of $1500 each.
