Although Ireland is known for a having a bar or pub on every corner, one publican is defying the stereotype by opening the nation’s very first alcohol-free bar.
The Virgin Mary Bar opened it’s doors on Dublin’s Cape Street and offers wine, beer, spirits and cocktails with zero alcohol.
Although the bar doesn’t serve alcohol, the owner says it’s not a cafe but  a bar with no food on the menu.
The owner said he wanted to encourage people to have a good night out without alcohol, promoting a longer night out, good conversation and a safe drive home once it’s over.
