How to Drink Responsibly in Front of Your Kids

A challenge that parents often have to deal with, is the impact their behaviour has on their offspring, for example the message their drinking is sending to their kids.

Are you creating a life-time binge drinker by drinking in front of your child or are you creating a responsible drinker?

A study found that children who grew up in a house where the parents drank heavily were more likely to be either abstainers or heavy drinkers.

Children who grew up in a household where there was moderate alcohol consumption were more likely to be moderate drinkers themselves.

In addition to drinking moderately yourself, experts say you should also talk frankly with your children about alcohol. Don’t try to hide the subject but rather teach them how to handle the risk.
