Foetal Alcohol Illness Worse Than We Thought



A child health expert says the federal government should increase taxes on alcohol in order to combat the long term and hidden illnesses linked to drinking while pregnant.

Collectively known as Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, the problems associated with drinking while pregnant range from behavioural issues to learning difficulties.

Pregnant women should keep in mind that brain damage caused by alcohol to the unborn baby is irreversible.
