England’s Alarming Drinking Stats

In England, around 2 million people are consuming more than 30 per cent of alcohol sold in the nation.

Healthcare data shows that 4 per cent of the population of England is drinking one-third of all the alcohol being sold and most them are consuming the cheap, high strength alcohol.

This data comes as a British parliamentary committee debates a 50 pence minimum unit price on alcohol (around 87 Australian cents).  A similar debate is raging in Australia.
