Do Mosquitoes Feel The Effects of Alcohol?

A useless bit of information but fun to know none-the-less is whether mosquitoes that bite you when you’re drinking alcohol will get drunk?

Something you may not have known is that the likelihood of being bitten by a mosquito is dramatically increased if you drink alcohol.

No one knows why mosquitoes are more attracted to drinkers but mosquitoes are attracted to humans thanks to 2 chemicals exhaled by us, carbon dioxide and octanol. When we drink we may be releasing more of these chemicals.

But do these mosquitoes get drunk if the humans they feed on are drunk? According to Entomologist Tanya Dapkey, from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, probably not because the blood alcohol level is going to be so low.
