Cut Back on Alcohol for Your Health

While the benefits of moderate drinking have long been advocated, a large organisation of cancer doctors recently issued a call to action to minimise alcohol consumption to address health problems and cancer risks in particular.

According to the position paper by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) alcohol has been linked to several types of cancer and for people already living with cancer, alcohol can play a role in cancer recurrence.

The doctors highlighted the known risks of head and neck, esophageal, liver, colorectal and female breast cancers.
