Foetal alcohol syndrome was first identified 4 decades ago but some people are still not sure about whether alcohol is really that bad for babies. Some people say having one drink a day is acceptable while others warn that no alcohol at all should be consumed.
Now in a new clinical report, the American Academy of Pediatrics has made it abundantly clear that no alcohol at all should be consumed by expectant mothers or the risks to the unborn child could be extreme including birth defects and intellectual and neurodevelopmental disabilities.
