Alcohol and Its Affect on Your Hormones

Excessive drinking on a regular basis can cause a number of health problems and even affect your hormone levels and fertility.

According to experts, drinking heavily can increase estrogen, at different levels for different age groups and can decrease testosterone levels.

A Texan study found that drinking 2 or 3 beers a day caused slight reduction in testosterone for men and didn’t lower testosterone in women. This shows that moderate drinking shouldn’t cause too much damage. The problem comes in when people drink excessively, on a regular basis.

Some of the consequences in addition to altered hormone levels include infertility and weight gain amongst others.
