A recent study found that people who drank coffee and alcohol actually lived longer than people who abstained from both.

The 90+ study was conducted by the researchers at the Clinic for Aging Research and Education in California. The study started in 2003 and aims to discover why some people live over 90 and others don’t.

The study has more than 1600 participants who visit the centre every 6 months to undergo neurological and neuropsychological tests including a series of cognitive and physical tests to see how well they are functioning.

Researchers have found that people lived longer when they consumed moderate amounts of alcohol and coffee.
