Study Suggest 4 Drinks in One Sitting Disrupts Sleep Genes

A recent study published in the Journal of Neurochemistry claims that a single binge drinking episode may permanently disrupt the gene that regulates sleep.

While we are aware of the link between alcohol and sleep quality, this is the first study that shows that even one binge drinking event is enough to affect sleep.

According to the lead researcher Dr Mahesh Thakkar the results are surprising because we were under the impression that sleep would only be affected by multiple sessions of binge drinking.

In other words, as soon as you have 4 drinks in a row, your genes are permanently altered.
