Should You Accumulate Your Alcohol Points for The Weekend?


Do you have a special occasion coming up that you want to have an extra drink or two?

While saving your money to splurge on something special may work, saving your alcohol points doesn’t quite work.

In fact abstaining from alcohol and then binge drinking on one occasion can actual put your health and your safety at risk, whether you’ve gone days, months or even years without a drink prior to that drinking occasion.

The Australian Government Department of Health advises that women drink no more than 4 standard drinks on any one occasion and that men drink no more than 6 standard drinks at a time. Drinking more than this constitutes binge drinking and this increases your risk of harm.

There are a plethora of problems associated with binge drinking and in the long term this practice of saving your alcohol points and binge drinking on the weekend can damage your health. Find out more
