Knowing when to stop and drinking responsibly and in moderation are the signs of a mature drinker. Getting drunk may seem cool when you’re young but you soon realise the impact on your health, weight, skin and overall wellbeing of excessive drinking aren’t worth it. Here’s how to make sure you drink without getting too drunk,
- Set the terms among your friends, don’t always follow what they do. If sipping on a bourbon rather than downing shot after shot is more your thing, then do it.
- Don’t be competitive. Drinking is not a competition. We’re all built differently and your body’s ability to metabolise alcohol may not be the same as your friends.
- Count your drinks, keeping in mind that if you cant remember how many you’ve had, it’s probably time to stop.
